CARSTAR President Elected Vice Chair of SCRS Board of Directors

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) has elected  Dan Bailey, president and chief operating officer of CARSTAR Collision Centers, as the vice chair of the SCRS national board of directors for the 2009 term.

Bailey – who has more than 30 years experience in the collision repair industry as a repair professional, shop owner and collision center executive – will help guide policy and programs for the collision industry. He is currently serving a two-year term on the board.

"It’s an honor to be elected to serve as vice chair on the national board for our industry," said Bailey. "This is a critical time for our industry – we’re faced with a challenging economy, pressures from the suppliers and insurance community and the need for growing our customer base. I look forward to working with our national board members to address these issues and help collision center owners succeed for the future."

Active in several collision repair industry organizations, Bailey currently serves as a board member for the Mitchell advisory board, is on the CCC advisory board and the ASA Collision Division committee, as a national judge for Skills USA-VICA, and as a member of CIC. As past chairman of the Kansas City/Topeka Chapter of SCRS, he directed fundraising activities for Camp Mak-A-Dream and the sponsorship of a collision repair industry trade fair in Kansas City.
