CARSTAR Recognizes Stores’ Marketing, Philanthropic Activities

CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts announced the winners of its top marketing awards at the CARSTAR National Conference in Seattle. The marketing awards recognize the franchisees and individuals that deliver the most impactful marketing programs throughout the year. For the third year, CARSTAR also honored local CARSTAR stores’ philanthropic activities with special awards such as Extraordinary Individual Store Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation, Extraordinary Business Group Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation and Soaps It Up Outstanding Contribution.

CARSTAR’s Bill Garoutte, assistant vice president – marketing, honored each winner on stage and presented their award during the annual awards ceremony. The award winners included:

Marketing Manager of the Year

Susan Kukyendall, representing the Kurt’s CARSTAR Collision Center, was named Marketing Manager of the Year in 2011. To earn the award, a marketing manager must have supported corporate marketing programs like ACE, Make-A-Wish Magnetic Stars and Soaps It Up; worked as a marketing manager for at least one year; and participated in community involvement and creative marketing solutions.

Emerging Market Store of the Year

The award for Emerging Market Store of the Year went to C&H CARSTAR in Fairborn, Ohio, owned by Ed Collins. The honor was based on image compliance, CSI rating, micro site/compliant website and use of the corporate marketing programs including ACE, Make-A-Wish Magnetic Stars, Soaps It Up and Military Month.

Business Group of the Year

The Business Group of the Year honor was awarded to the Colorado Business Group. It was selected for its image compliance, combined CSI rating, dedicated marketing representative, micro site/compliant website, and use of the corporate marketing programs including ACE, Make-A-Wish Magnetic Stars, Soaps It Up, and Military Month.

Awards Honor Stores’ Philanthropic Activities

Two of the unique awards are the Extraordinary Individual Store Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation and Extraordinary Business Group Contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. These awards are presented to both an individual store and a Business Group for their efforts in going above and beyond the normal call of duty to support the Make-A-Wish foundation. These recipients were selected based on their proactive approach to support the Make-A-Wish foundation in their local market.

The recipient of the Extraordinary Individual Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation is Kurt’s CARSTAR Collision Center in the St Louis, Mo., area, owned by Kurt Mueller, who also won in 2009 and 2010. The recipient of the Extraordinary Business Group Contribution to the Make-Wish-Foundation is the Puget Sound Business Group.

The final philanthropic award is for Soaps It Up Outstanding Contribution. CARSTAR Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas, led the effort with the most cars washed and the largest donation collected, so was named the 2011 Soaps It Up Outstanding Contribution winner.

“All of these stores, business groups and individuals have done a tremendous job of building the CARSTAR brand locally and nationally over the past year,” said Garoutte. “They have delivered unique, creative marketing programs that have helped drive sales, increase our market share and set apart the CARSTAR brand in the marketplace.”
