CARSTAR’s Super’Stang, a restored 1967 Ford Mustang, will appear at the 28th Street Metro Cruise in Grand Rapids, Mich., Aug. 23 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Super’Stang, restored by CARSTAR and one of the country’s leading restorers of Mustangs, Jeff Yergovich, is in the midst of an 18-month fundraising tour to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The car will be auctioned in Scottsdale, Ariz., in January 2009 to benefit the foundation. The tour, launched in June 2007, has already raised more than $200,000 and traveled more than 35,000 miles across the country.
The 28th Street Metro Cruise usually hosts more than 15,000 vehicles and more than 230,000 attendees over 15 miles of road. Presented by the Wyoming-Kentwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc., this year’s event will feature a classic car auction, the Batmobile and Evil Knievel’s Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The 525-horsepower Super’Stang will be a feature car in the Metro Million Display area Aug. 23 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Metro Million Display will showcase roughly 20 cars with a combined worth of more than $10 million. For $1, visitors can view a wide array of cars, including a 1902 Curved Dash Oldsmobile.
