CARSTAR to Give Back to Environment for 30th Anniversary

CARSTAR will be planting trees in both its Canadian and U.S. head office locations – Hamilton, Ontario and Charlotte, N.C.

CARSTAR announced it will be giving back to the environment for its April 30th anniversary celebration.

CARSTAR will be planting trees in both its Canadian and U.S. head office locations – Hamilton, Ontario and Charlotte, N.C. Planting mature trees in Hamilton to increase their likelihood of survival and planting trees in Charlotte along the Little Sugar Creek to help reduce flooding and keep the stream cool is the goal of CARSTAR’s contribution.

“One of the founding pillars of CARSTAR is to give back to the communities we work and live in, which includes the environment,” says Michael Macaluso, president of CARSTAR. “Our aim with the April celebration of our 30th anniversary is to positively impact our head office cities, Hamilton and Charlotte, on top of our continued sustainability efforts across North America.”

Throughout the year, CARSTAR locations in both Canada and the U.S. do what they can to help minimize their environmental footprint. A few of CARSTAR’s conservations efforts include using recycled parts when the repair process allows, hosting community clean-up days, embracing technology to eliminate paper usage, recycling materials like tires or paint thinners, using energy efficient equipment like specialized spray guns and even installing new LED lighting to reduce energy consumption.

“As a small business owner, it really is a no brainer for us to implement energy efficient systems into our store because it saves us money while also reducing our carbon footprint,” says Dennis Carlini, owner, CARSTAR Windsor, CARSTAR Express Tecumseh Road West, CARSTAR Chatham, CARSTAR LaSalle. “I am definitely not the only CARSTAR store owner incorporating steps like recycling parts or installing energy efficient lighting into the repair process, because it really just makes sense for our business and the environment.”

The CARSTAR tree planting is a part of the yearlong celebration of its 30th anniversary in North America. Each month, the CARSTAR family is doing something unique to thank the many communities, franchise partners and industry partners for their continued support throughout its 30 years of business.
