CCAR has announced two auto repair facilities in Louisiana and Pennsylvania that have achieved “GreenLink Shop” recognition in June.
An extension of CCAR’s CCAR-GreenLink Environmental Compliance Assistance Center and S/P2 Safety and Pollution Prevention E-learning Program, the GreenLink Shop status serves to promote consumer confidence in local automotive repair facilities’ environmental/safety awareness and stewardship.
The new GreenLink Shops are:
Auto Show Collision Center, Philadelphia, Pa.
Frank’s Accurate Body Shop, Slidell, La.
Repair facilities pursuing GreenLink Shop recognition must maintain high standards of excellence in environmental, health and safety (EHS) practices in four categories: business operations, employee training, safety compliance and environmental management, according to CCAR. The CCAR initiative recognizes auto service facilities and collision repair shops, with separate criteria established for each type of business.
CCAR also has announced the members of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee (Officers) for 2011-12.
Members of the CCAR Board are:
Mark Algie, 3M Corp., St. Paul, Minn.
Charlie Ayers, Midas International Corp., Itasca, Ill.
Guy Bargnes, Painters Supply & Equipment Co., Taylor, Mich.
Brandon Devis, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Randy Hanson, Allstate Insurance Co., Northbrook, Ill.

Bill Mayer, Insurance Auto Auctions Inc., Gaithersburg, Md.
John Nohe, JNA Advertising, Overland Park, Kan.
Mark Saxonberg, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Torrance, Calif.
"I am very excited to work with such high-caliber people on our current board,” said Charlie Ayers, franchise business manager for Midas, who was re-elected CCAR chairman. “We now have representation from several key areas of the automotive industry, including those from the OEMs, collision, insurance and undercar service sectors."
Others elected to the Executive Committee are Bill Mayer, vice chairman; Mark Saxonberg, secretary; and John Nohe, treasurer. Daren Fristoe, CCAR’s president and chief operating officer, serves as a non-voting member of the board.
"The depth and breadth of experience that the CCAR Board of Directors brings to our organization cannot be overstated,” said Fristoe. “We appreciate their time, commitment and support and look forward to their ongoing involvement with CCAR."
