The Connecticut Collision Repair Specialists (CCRS) Community Awareness Committee has launched a four-week toy drive to benefit the Toys For Tots organization in Connecticut. Association members were challenged to collect 2,000 toys in boxes placed in their shops.
“After discussing the needs here in Connecticut with the Marine Corps, we realize there are concerns, due to the economy, that the amount of donated toys could be less than in the past years,” said Angelo Campanella, CCRS chairman. “Our committee decided we could help challenging our members to step up and make a difference. No child should go without a toy at Christmas, and CCRS will make sure they don’t.”
Over the years, the Toys for Tots program has distributed more than 351 million toys for 166 million needy children.
CCRS is asking customers, suppliers and other community members to drop off new, unwrapped toys to CCRS member facilities. For a list of participating collision repair facilities, visit www.ctcrs.com or e-mail Lisa Siembab at [email protected].
