Craftsman Collision announced the launch of a matching campaign in support of the Canadian Red Cross 2021 British Columbia Fires Appeal and the Salvation Army Food Bank in the Okanagan to assist in their efforts to provide support, comfort and care during this incredibly difficult time.
“In these unprecedented times, we are giving back in the best way we can: supporting organizations like the Canadian Red Cross and The Salvation Army Food Bank who are on the ground helping those in need,” says Rick Hatswell, president of Craftsman Collision. “We are proud to be in a position to do our part to support the BC wildfire efforts.”
As dangerous wildfires sweep through British Columbia, many Canadians need urgent assistance. Thousands have already been forced to evacuate and leave their homes behind.
All eligible donations to the 2021 British Columbia Fires appeal made here or on Craftsman Collision’s Facebook page will be matched by Craftsman Collision (until Sept.3) up to $20,000. In addition, the Government of British Columbia is matching all eligible donations until Dec. 31. This is a great opportunity to triple your donation value to the Canadian Red Cross – a small $5 donation goes a long way and becomes $15.
Donations to the Canadian Red Cross will be used for immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long-term recovery, resiliency and preparedness for future events in British Columbia and impacted regions, including consequential events related to the fires.
In addition, all Craftsman Collision locations in Kamloops, Kelowna and Vernon are receiving donations of non-perishable food items from the community. For each item donated, Craftsman Collision will donate $1 to your local Salvation Army Food Bank. Participating locations include:
- Vernon, 2727 35th Avenue
- Kamloops, 453 Victoria Street West
- Kelowna, 1790 Springfield Road
- West Kelowna, 1070 Stevens Road
- Rutland, 275 Highway 33 East
Here is a list of the most needed items that you can donate to the food bank:
- Boxed grains (rice, cereals, pastas)
- Peanut butter
- Schooltime snacks
- Soups and pasta sauces
- Canned salmon and tuna
- Hygiene products (shampoo, soap, deodorant, razors, feminine products)
- Diapers and baby formula
“Supporting the communities where we live, work and do business has been at the heart of what we do for more than four decades,” said Stacey Cook, marketing manager. “Over the past few weeks, we have seen an overwhelming number of British Columbia businesses, organizations and individuals stepping up to the plate to help those displaced by the wildfires. This British Columbia spirit of looking out for one another will help get us through this crisis.”
Craftsman Collision would like to extend their deepest gratitude for your donation during this incredibly difficult time.
