Cue the dark and ominous background music.

WTAE-TV is promoting an investigative news segment that will focus on “the danger after your car is fixed.”

WTAE’s “Action News” team will investigate the “safety check” that automakers recommend “100 percent of the time” but insurance companies won’t pay for, according to the TV station. Presumably, that safety check is a post-repair scan.

The segment is scheduled to run during tonight’s 6 p.m. newscast (Feb. 1).
