A petition has been circulating among collision repair facilities that addresses many of the same allegations highlighted in the February 2015 episode of Anderson Cooper 360, calling attention to when, in 1963, “U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy sued the [insurance] industry to prevent them from forcing body shops to cut corners at the risk to public safety.”
The petition pleads for the federal government to “enforce the 1963 Consent Decree for the safety of the American driving public.” The petition is seeking 100,000 signatures by Feb. 24th. To participate, click here.
SCRS was not involved in the drafting of the petition.
