The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) has announced the educational seminar slate for its 35th annual NORTHEAST 2012 Automotive Services Show, with presentations and demos that touch upon almost every topic trending daily in the industry. NORTHEAST 2012 takes place March 9, 10 and 11 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center of Secaucus, N.J.

The weekend starts off with the SCRS/AASP/NJ East Coast Resolution Forum & Leadership Conference, which welcomes representatives from national and local automotive repair associations on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.

At 6 p.m., Mark Olson of VeriFacts gets the NORTHEAST seminars started with Shop Differentiation: How to Make Your Shop Stand Out, followed by Future Cure’s Tom Beck presenting Drying Waterborne: What You Need to Know NOW.

Larry Montanez III of P&L Consultants/IACDA will also be on-hand Friday evening, discussing OEM Repair Procedures vs. Repair Standards in the first of a two-part series. Kristen Felder and Elizabeth Blackman of CollisionHub will close out Friday’s seminars with SOS: A Social Media Intervention.

The seminars resume Saturday, March 10 at 8:30 a.m. with I-CAR presenting their popular Vehicle Technology and Trends 2011 (NEW11) course. As the day continues, industry topics including new paint technologies (Painting With Blended Nitrogen), customer service (The Customer Encounter: How the Front End Can Make or Break Your Business), hybrid repairs (Hybrid Aftermarket Service) and out-of-the-box marketing practices (How to Capture More Cars, Customers & Revenue Through Digital Marketing) will be discussed.

A variety of demos will be presented throughout the weekend as well. Demos scheduled at press time include "Stop Guessing…Start Knowing" presented by Tom McGee of ALLDATA and a special triage presentation by Larry Montanez. (Visit www.aaspnjnortheast.com/seminars-events.shtml for a full schedule of all seminars and demos.)

"There isn’t anywhere within 500 miles where you can get education and information along with so much new equipment and products that specifically deal with our industry," McDowell adds. "I’ve been saying it for 35 years and God willing, I’ll be saying it for another 35. If you’re in the automotive repair industry, you need to be at NORTHEAST."
