DuPont Refinish Introduces New Low-VOC LE Clearcoats

On Oct. 10, 2011, DuPont Refinish introduced three new, standard setting 2.1 VOC clearcoats designed for use with DuPont Cromax Pro waterborne basecoat.

DuPont ChromaClear LE 5400S Snap Dry Clearcoat has very low overspray and very fast dust free attributes. LE 5400S is designed to provide outstanding cure rates under air dry and express dry processing conditions. DuPont says it’s ideal for panel and multi-panel repairs in air dry conditions or low bake conditions with good gun gloss and excellent assembly time.

DuPont PremierClear LE 8300S Productive Clearcoat was developed for high-volume shops that need “premium” appearance with optimal productivity on panel and multi-panel repairs. This clearcoat is designed to increase production by maximizing vehicle throughput to achieve immediate vehicle delivery, according to DuPont.

DuPont PremierClear LE 8700S Premium Appearance Clearcoat is for shops that need “premium” appearance on large area repairs. LE 8700S produces a glamour clearcoat and offers excellent application, buffability and appearance under bake processing conditions, according to DuPont.

“These three new clearcoats join our popular LE 5100S Multi-Panel Clearcoat to form a complete line of 2.1 VOC products that truly rivals the performance of National Rule products,” said Harry Christman, DuPont Refinish brand manager.
