Enterprise Helps Test Collision Repair Students at SkillsUSA South Carolina Conference

Rental care company is providing four identical, late-model vehicles to state affiliate of SkillsUSA so collision repair students can use them in vehicle repair contests taking place during the conference.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is partnering with the SkillsUSA South Carolina Leadership and Skills Conference March 26-27 at Greenville Technical College’s McKinney Automotive Center to support collision repair education, PR Newswire reported.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is providing four identical, late-model vehicles to SkillsUSA South Carolina for use in vehicle repair contests taking place during the conference. SkillsUSA South Carolina is the state affiliate of the national SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit organization serving high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations.

Nearly 80 schools and more than 30 collision repair programs from across South Carolina will compete in the 2015 contests. Judges will test students’ repair skills related to specific National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and automotive repair knowledge areas, including vehicle maintenance, collision repair, automotive refinishing and estimating. Students will read engine codes with a diagnostic tool, view components, troubleshoot the problem and explain to judges how to properly repair a vehicle. Enterprise will provide vehicles for the masking and refinish preparation portion of the contest. Once the event is completed, Enterprise will return the vehicles to pre-contest condition.

"Those preparing for ASE certification can get a good idea of what to expect by adding the official ASE practice tests to their study plans.
