Preston Autobody recently received an award for implementing the U.S. EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE) Best Practices in Collision Repair. The EPA recognized Preston Autobody’s commitment to support the environment, protect workers and customers from harmful substances and prevent pollution, the Maryland shop says.
To receive the EPA’s DfE Best Practices award, a business must comply with stringent regulations to use chemicals safely and minimize exposure to dangerous elements. A collision repair shop must evaluate chemicals used in painting and refinishing and find environmentally friendly products to use. Also, workers should wear the proper protective equipment when handling potentially dangerous materials.
