FinishMaster Exceeds $1 Million in Online Orders in May

Indianapolis-based FinishMaster, a national distributor of automotive paints, coatings and paint-related accessories, exceeded $1 million in orders in May through its online ordering Web site www.pbeconnection.com, the company announced. The shopping site allows customers to place orders 24 hours a day from a customized product portfolio.

“E-commerce is one of many services that convinced us that FinishMaster is a forward looking company,” said Jeff Prescott, body shop manager for Suburban Collision Specialists of Glenolden, Pa. “Prior to training, I had reservations because I am not a computer expert. However, the Web site is very easy to use, and I enjoy the convenience of off-hour ordering and reporting.”

With the help of FinishMaster’s E-Commerce team, customers can also use the Web site to build a customized product portfolio based on the shop’s tailored inventory footprint, the company says.

“The margin of error in the collision repair business continues to shrink, which forces owners and managers to find ways to eliminate waste,” said Jim Muse, vice president of business development for FinishMaster. “As a distributor, we must find ways to help our customers become more profitable. Our online ordering provides a shop manager with the ability to restrict the products that are ordered by creating a customized list, which drives down product duplication and insures that the repair process stays within the shop’s standard operating procedures.”
