Collision repair facilities are always trying to think of new ways to drive traffic to their doors. Who knew that restoring a celebrity’s car was the secret to success?

Over the past three months, residents of Edgewater, Fla., couldn’t contain their curiosity and just had to drop by Clinton’s Auto Body and Service to see “Saturday Night Fever” and “Pulp Fiction” actor John Travolta’s 1958 Ford Thunderbird being restored…even riding their bikes by every day.

According to an article that ran in the Daytona Beach News-Journal, owner Eddie Clinton initially turned down the job offered by a mechanic friend of his, saying, “Hell no.” Clinton thought it would take too much time away from his main focus of repairing collision-damaged vehicles for everyday folks and insurance companies.

Ultimately, Clinton was lured in by Travolta’s star appeal and accepted the job.
