Florida Repairers Donating Refurbished Vehicles in Time for Christmas

A new program launched for Central Florida collision repairers is aiming to secure and recondition four or more vehicles to give to families in need in time for Christmas.

The group was formed by Ray Gunder of Gunder’s Auto Center.

"I’m proud to be associated with those I consider respected collision repair leaders in our market area for such a worthy cause and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish by working together for a common goal of helping others," Gunder said. "The community has been very good to each of us, and we invite other Polk County industry professionals to join us in what we hope to continue throughout the years ahead."

Attendees at the group’s planning meeting included: Doc Jenkins of Jenkins Lincoln-Mercury, Barrett Smith of Auto Damage Experts, Sean Douglas and Matt McCall of Douglas Collision Center, Dave Stewart of Stewart’s Auto Repair, Cherri Surrency of Regal Automotive Group and Ray Gunder of Gunder’s Auto Center.

AllPro Used Auto Parts has also committed to participating in the program.

The group is seeking a name for the project and any suggestions to help with the program’s success. If you’re interested in participating or have suggestions, contact Gunder at [email protected] or call (863) 688-7897. Repairer participation will be restricted after Oct. 25.
