Howard Meeks, Jim O’Brien, Jerry Sheehan and Chris Callahan took top honors at the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s (AASP-NJ) 13th Annual Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing, with a score of 66.
The foursome of James Powell, Joe Lubischer, Paul Branning and Scott Vari finished second with a score of 67. Rod Cameron, Mike Padula, Ken Spilatore and Ken Barbera finished third.
The Sept. 18 golf outing, held at the Colonia Country Club, was an opportunity for shop owners, technicians, vendors and others to socialize, enjoy themselves and raise money for a scholarship in honor of the outing’s namesake. Industry members not only attended the outing but also were generous in supporting the event through prize and hole sponsorships.
“We are so thankful to everyone who took the time from a work day to come out here and honor Lou’s memory,” said AASP-NJ President Jeff McDowell. “Whether they attend or donate, it is truly heartwarming to see so many people come together for such a good cause.”
Following lunch and a day on the golf course, guests were treated to a cocktail reception and dinner, where they partook in a 50/50 drawing and an unprecedented prize raffle. The dinner was hosted by Joe Amato Sr. of the Amato Agency.
“As emotional as this day is for those of us who knew and worked with Lou, it’s always great to see the rousing support of the industry at events like this,” said AASP-NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant. “We appreciate all those in attendance, as well as all of the companies who helped fund the outing. When doing business, I cannot urge you enough to look to these sponsors first.”
Other winners included Omar Mostafi and Siobhan Beare (Closest to the Pin) and Steve Pesce Jr. and Siobhan Beare (Longest Drive).
