After two days of phone-ins and donations, the Jackie & Bender’s One Big KISS for Seattle Children’s Hospital Radiothon wrapped with a total donation of $1,073,427.12. The money collected helps Seattle’s Children’s Hospital provide compassionate pediatric care for all Pacific Northwest patients regardless of ability to pay. Of the funds generated, Kirmac Collision was the first to start donations with a kick-off $35,000 Miracle Match.
Leonard Lassak, regional area manager, presented the check and challenged listeners to match Kirmac’s contribution. Kirmac is happy to share that the challenge was met and in fact, surpassed with $1,073,427.12!
The $35,000 kick-off donation was generated from the Kirmac Cares for Kids foundation. This initiative takes a percentage of earned income from auto repair sales and converts these dollars into donations to support the Children’s Hospitals. Kirmac Cares for Kids was launched in all of Kirmac’s 10 British Columbia locations in September 2010. The initiative has now taken off in the Washington locations as well, where the proceeds go to support Seattle’s Children’s Hospital.
Ian McIntosh, president of Kirmac Collision, says, "The Kirmac Cares for Kids program allows drivers to turn the unfortunate experience of being involved in an auto accident into a chance to help provide world-class healthcare for the children of the Pacific Northwest."
