According to a news story off the AP Wire, retail gas prices climbed for the 50th straight day today, which of course spells bad news for repairers already reeling from more and more consumers opting to not spend their insurance checks on collision repairs but other necessities like mortage and car payments. The 50-day streak is the longest in records dating to 1996.
Gas prices typically rise in summer as Americans head to the highways for vacations, but a big leap in crude prices over the past few months and less production from refiners hasn’t helped the situation.
