I-CAR to Offer Training at ASA Expo, Expanding Online Course Registration Options

I-CAR will provide collision training for automotive service professionals at the 17th Annual Vision Hi-Tech Training & Expo, March 6-7, 2009 at the Overland Park Convention Center in Kansas City, Mo., presented by the Automotive Service Association of Missouri and Kansas (ASA-MO/KAN).

“I-CAR is excited about taking part in the ASA event and being able to provide collision training to those attending,” said Mike Miller, frontline support manager for I-CAR. “Automotive service professionals can’t afford not to train. In today’s competitive environment, it’s important that industry professionals stay up-to-date on the latest in recommended collision repair procedures and techniques.”

Classes that will be offered include: Hybrid Electric and Alternative Fuel Vehicles (ALT02), Steering and Suspension Damage Analysis (DAM06), Fundamentals of Collision Repair (FCR01), Hazardous Materials, Personnel Safety, and Refinish Safety (WKR01), Mechanical Systems Analysis (DAM03), Stationary Glass (GLA02), Advanced Restraint Systems (RES02), Squeeze-Type Resistance Spot Welding (WCS04), Driveability Issues, No-Starts, and Emissions (DRE01), Electronically Controlled Steering and Suspension Systems (STE05), and Electrical Circuits and DVOM usage (ELE01).

In addition, I-CAR will showcase its newest course offering on waterborne paint technology planned for introduction to the collision repair inter-industry the same week. Information about the new course will be available on I-CAR’s Web site Feb. 2.

I-CAR has also added a third online registration option for collision repair training courses. The new option allows students to indicate to I-CAR the intention of attending a class and doesn’t require logging into the I-CAR Web site or online payment.

I-CAR requests advance registration to ensure that materials are available for all students and to avoid canceling classes when minimum enrollments are not met. The organization’s online registration process, introduced in November, is continuing to grow and I-CAR believes the addition of the new option is needed to support those students who wish to indicate that they plan to attend a class that will be paid for by their employer.

“This form of registration is an excellent option for those students who plan to attend a class but who typically pay in the classroom with an I-CAR discount coupon or check provided by their employer,” said Jeff Peevy, director of field operations.

Students will be able to use the new system by selecting the “Register and Pay at the Door” option when registering for class. To receive the best pricing on classes, I-CAR recommends that students purchase I-CAR discount coupons before arriving at class. Discount coupons are available for $105 to any I-CAR student or for $85 for Gold Class Professionals businesses and Platinum Individual students. Students paying at the door with a check will be charged the full price of $145.
