JOB OPENING: Auto Refinishing Field Technical Support Rep, ChemSpec USA

Job Description

Job Title: Auto Refinishing Field Technical Support Representative for Northeast Region
Reports To: Technical Manager

Summary

Ensure successful introduction and continued sales of the Montana / Metalux II System in the Northeast U.S. by providing thorough field training of painters, shop management and distributors on all technical aspects of the system.  

Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned)

1.    Assist the sales staff in the installation of Metalux II with our distributors.
2.    Train jobbers / distributors, shop managers and painters on the use of the Easimix color retrieval and paint shop management software.
3.    Train painters on the mixing and proper use of all products in the Montana / Metalux II System.
4.    Assist Training Manager / Trainer in color theory and adjustment classes.
5.    Assist in periodic product training classes held at Montana Products Inc. headquarters and field sites.
6.    Report color formula and product needs to Project Coordinator.
7.    Collect color panels as needed for new color formulations.
8.    Conduct periodic field audits of customer’s facilities and shop practices.
9.    Report potential sales opportunities and / or threats to sales management through the completion of weekly written field activity reports.
10.    Required to travel approximately 50% of the time, as needed, to successfully complete all introductions and continued sales of the Montana / Metalux II System.  There will be frequent overnight stays.
11.    Re-visit existing Metalux II customers for follow-up and problem solving.
12.    Assist from time to time with Product complaints.
13.    Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Performance Ratios

1.    Weekly activity reports due to Technical manager by end of day every Friday.
2.    Absences not to exceed 2% per year.

Education and Experience

•    High School Diploma or GED equivalent
•    College Degree from an accredited college or university, and / or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    At least five (5) years application experience (includes experience with all applications equipment) in the refinishing industry.  
•    At least two (2) years training experience.

Language

•    Skilled in grammar and punctuation of the English language.  Must score a GED Level 2 on the Wonderlic Basic Skills Verbal Test (WBST)

Mathematical Skills

•    Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.  Ability to apply concepts, such as, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Must score a GED Level 2 on the Wonderlic Basic Skills Quantitative Test (WBST)

Other Skills and Abilities

•    Must score at least 20 on the Wonderlic Personnel Test (WPT)
•    Must score at least 4 on the CPP Accuracy Index or above on the CPP Compatibility Questionnaire
•    Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures and manuals.
•    Ability to present information to groups.
