Kent Automotive announced that eight of its industry professionals recently completed I-CAR Industry Training Alliance provider training, bringing its total number of I-CAR instructors to 19.
More than 8,200 collision repair personnel have participated in Kent’s I-CAR courses since 2008.
Kent, a brand of Lawson Products, is a Chicago-based distributor of high-performance products and inventory management solutions for collision centers, automotive OEMs and new and used car dealerships.
The increase in I-CAR training resources complements a range of hands-on training sessions and clinics taught by Kent professionals at customer locations and provided at no cost, the company noted.
“Our Kent Automotive representatives are in shops and service bays with owners and technicians every day, so we’re intensely focused on what’s happening in the industry,” said Matt Brown, senior vice president, sales, for Lawson Products. “We’ve developed training content to help collision centers reduce costs, improve processes and stay on top of the safe, efficient and effective use of products.”
For example, Brown noted that plastic repair options are sometimes overlooked. A better understanding of correct repair material, products and steps to complete the repair can lead to greater profitability for collision centers, he said.
“Kent Automotive’s training programs, together with our I-CAR offerings can help repairers ensure their technicians, supervisors, and staff are equipped and proficient in significant aspects of collision repair,” Brown said.
Kent offers the follow I-CAR approved training courses:
- Automotive Body Shop Safety
- Restoring OEM Corrosion Protection
- Duplicating OEM Seam Sealers
- Automotive Plastic and Tab Repair
- Headlamp Restoration
Kent Automotive is a longtime member of the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance. Kent’s programs support the I-CAR Vision that every person in the collision repair industry has the information, knowledge and skills required to perform complete, safe and quality repairs for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
