Leading Edge Auto Refinishes and GarageFly.com Raise More than $40,000 for Arizona First Responders

Golf tournament raises $43,107 for the 100 Club of Arizona.

To support the first responder community across the state of Arizona, Leading Edge Auto Refinishes and its affiliate, GarageFly.com, brought the automotive community together to raise $43,107 for the 100 Club of Arizona through the inaugural Hot Shots Golf Tournament on Oct. 5, 2013. Forty-four local and national sponsors supported the event, and more than 140 players played in the tournament.

The 100 Club of Arizona’s mission is to provide immediate financial assistance to families of public safety officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in their line of duty, and to provide resources to enhance their safety and welfare.

Hosted at the Arizona Biltmore, the golf tournament allowed all 18 tee boxes to be moved on the course to make the yardages "hole-in-one possible," with the prize of winning a new car at each tee. In addition, the practice green featured a long putt contest, and one lucky player won a 55-inch flat screen TV. The tournament featured "19 Hot Shots" in honor of the Arizona heroes who died in Yarnell.

“The 100 Club of Arizona would like to thank all of the sponsors, players and volunteers who have helped make the inaugural Hot Shots Golf Tournament a tremendous success," said Sharon Knutson-Felix, executive director of The 100 Club. "The 100 Club of Arizona serves more than 50,000 public safety officers, firefighters, their agencies and their families throughout the state of Arizona. We could not do what we do without your support.”
