LKQ, Diamond Standard Partner to Meet Demand for Front Steel Bumpers

Bumper stamping in Ohio with plating in Minnesota and Oklahoma provides "pivotal supply chain solution" to meet expanded demand, says LKQ.

Keystone Automotive Industries, Inc., an LKQ Company, and Diamond Standard Parts, LLC, have formed a strategic alliance on U.S.-made front steel bumper stampings. LKQ states that the combination of bumper stamping in Ohio with plating in Minnesota and Oklahoma provides a pivotal supply chain solution to meet the expanded North American market demand for CAPA Certified and Diamond Standard front steel bumpers.

This program leverages two well-known brand names, Diamond Standard and Platinum Plus, to address the need within the industry for these parts. Packaging of the Diamond Standard, U.S.-made, CAPA Certified bumpers that are plated by Keystone Automotive will combine the brands of both companies in an easily identifiable package displaying both "Platinum Plus" and "Diamond Standard" logos.

"The cooperative manufacturing effort being done solely in America means more U.S. jobs at a time when they’re badly needed," said Michael O’Neal, president of Diamond Standard. "Insurers and collision centers alike expect and demand verifiable quality and correct part delivery on all parts, and specifically structural parts. As a certified manufacturer, we’re confident our structural parts are safe and reliable as proven by their CAPA Certification."

Added Terry Fortner, LKQ’s vice president of industry relations and market development, "LKQ Corporation, the first certified participant in the NSF Distributor Certification Program, is pleased to announce this strategic alliance. As a forward step in our quality assurance evolution, this adds even another level of confidence in our quality products that we distribute."
