Matrix Wand Joins CIECA as Corporate Member

Founded in 2003 and based in Salina, Kan., Matrix Electronic Measuring developed the Matrix Wand, a patented, stereoscopic, 3D computerized measuring system.

The Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA) announced that Matrix Electronic Measuring, Inc. (MEM) recently joined the organization as a corporate member. Founded in 2003 and based in Salina, Kan., MEM developed the Matrix Wand, a patented, stereoscopic, 3D computerized measuring system. The hand-held, portable, targetless stereoscopic imaging system uses photogrammetry and was designed to solve problems associated with structural collision repair, calibration and 3D vehicle integrity documentation.

After learning about CIECA over the past year, MEM decided to join the organization and is currently part of CIECA’s new Calibration Committee.

“Matrix is passionate about collision repair and dedicated to the future of our industry,” said Jan Srack, founder of MEM. “Standards and calibrations are critical in the collision repair world, and CIECA is dedicated to both of these. Matrix is excited about the opportunity to work together.”

Srack said that 3D data is an important part of the industry and artificial intelligence (AI).

“AI expects the vehicle to be perfect and may operate off a structurally imperfect sensor thinking it is perfect,” she said. “By evaluating the sensors and cameras where they need to be to operate correctly, it will help technicians repair the vehicle back to OEM specifications and give customers peace of mind about their safety. We believe that by working with CIECA, we’ll be able to help standardize our industry’s calibrations.”
