The National Auto Body Council (NABC) has announced that nominations are now being accepted for its 2012 board of directors. As is the case each year, seven positions are opening.
With the board election being held in New Orleans during NACE at the NABC Annual Meeting on Oct. 10, 2012, anyone interested in seeking a board position or in nominating someone for a board position must notify NABC in writing on or before Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012. This is in keeping with NABC bylaws stating that nominations must be received 60 days before the election.
To be eligible for inclusion on the ballot, a candidate must be a member or the designated representative of a member. A candidate may nominate him/herself, or three members may nominate a candidate, in which case the nomination cannot be declined by the nominee.
All written nominations must be sent to the NABC one of three ways:
By e-mail (preferred method) to [email protected] or to Executive Director Chuck
Sulkala at [email protected]
Through the U.S. Postal Service to:
National Auto Body Council
Attn: Mary Annen
7044 S. 13th St.
Oak Creek, WI 53154
By fax to the attention of Mary Annen at (414) 768-8001
Current board members whose terms are scheduled to end this year include Domenic Brusco, Bruce Cooley, Bill Garoutte, Dwight Howard, Michael Quinn, Nick Notte and Rick Tuuri. These board members may seek to be reelected, but they must go through the same process as any other candidate.
Once the deadline for nomination has passed, a ballot will be formulated that includes the names of all candidates listed in alphabetical order. That ballot then will be sent to all members at least 30 days in advance of the annual meeting. The specific location of the election will be included on the ballot.
