The Nashville I-CAR Committee recently sold a refurbished 2008 Cadillace SRX for $5,200 to benefit the collision refinish program at local McGavock High School. The fundraising was facilitated through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.
The goal of this endeavor was to bring a damaged vehicle up to industry standards and sell it in order to raise funds for an I-CAR training curriculum at the school. In addition to the sale of the vehicle, Enterprise Rent-A-Car contributed funds to supplement the donation.
Other local donors on this project included ABRA, Accurate Autobody, Affordable Auto Glass, AutoBody America, Colormatch, Crest Cadillac, LKQ Corp/Keystone, Prices Collision, the Nashville Auto Diesel College and 3M. These participating sponsors donated the vehicle, as well as the restoration supplies and labor required to make quality repairs to the vehicle.
The Nashville I-CAR Committee selected McGavock High School as the recipient of these funds due to its reputable automotive program and proximity to Committee sponsors. McGavock is the second largest high school in Tennessee, with a total of approximately 2,200 students.
