New Jersey-Based Shop Restores Piece of Fallen Twin Towers

Collision Care Auto Body Centers’ Marlton, N.J., location recently worked to restore a piece of American history: a steel beam from the fallen World Trade Center. The collision repair facility was invited by Evesham Township Councilman Bob DiEnna to complete the project and turn the beam into a memorial.

“When we were first asked, I agreed without hesitation,” said Lou Berman, vice president of sales for Collision Care. “The decision to do this was easy, and it was my way of taking advantage of an opportunity to do something more.”

Berman played college football for the same team as Rob Horrocks, one of the pilots who died in 9/11.

“When [Collision Care] CEO Val Fichera was informed of [the project], he immediately empowered everyone to do all that was necessary to take the proper precautions and to solicit and engage the materials and manpower needed to restore and preserve this piece of history,” said Berman.
