New PBE Jobber 20 Group Formed; Guy Bargnes to Moderate

Square One Systems (SOS), a provider of “20 Groups” in the collision repair industry, has formed the first independent 20 Group program specifically for PBE jobbers. This program will be moderated by industry leader Guy Bargnes, formerly with BASF Corporation.

“We at Square One have been putting on successful 20 Groups in the collision repair industry for more than 20 years,” said Elainna Sachire, SOS principal. “The PBE jobber specialist has long played a vital role in service and support for the collision repair industry, and we recognized the need for this program some time ago.”

The new PBE jobber 20 Groups will meet three times per year in various hub cities. PBE jobbers will share best practices and learn from each other in a supportive yet aggressive environment, with heavy focus on improving financials via SOS’s financial composite comparatives tool.

“I’ve long been familiar with the quality and successes generated by the 20 Groups run by SOS,” said Bargnes. “My PBE industry roots go deep – back to a family business. I’m confident that PBE jobbers will recognize what a great opportunity it is to participate in the industry’s first independent 20 Group in North America.”

Bargnes’s experience in the PBE industry spans decades. Prior to joining BASF, he was a third-generation owner/operator of a family-owned PBE jobber business in Buffalo, New York. During his 17 years at BASF, positions included director of marketing for BASF’s North American Automotive Refinish Group and, most recently, former national sales director.

Beyond the core financial data, members who join these new PBE jobber 20 Groups will share best practices, discuss ideas on creating lean operations, explore opportunities for new market development and network. Current market issues will be addressed as needed. Bargnes will moderate each meeting with facilitation by experienced SOS executives, and meetings often will feature industry and other guest speakers.

“These new 20 Groups are open to all PBE jobbers, both single and multi-line, regardless of paint affiliation,” said Bargnes. “The goal is pure and simple: to help any interested PBE jobber improve their business.”
