New Spectra Premium Award for NASCAR Pinty’s Series

The race award comes with a $1,000 prize, and the possibility of an additional $500 bonus that will be awarded to a Spectra Premium Best Overtaker Award Winner who utilized a Spectra Premium racing radiator during the race.

For the upcoming 2018 NASCAR Pinty’s season, starting on May 20, Spectra Premium will give the new Spectra Premium Best Overtaker Award to the driver of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series with the most positions gained between start and finish in a race.

In case of a tie, the driver with the highest number of driver points for that race earns the award.

The race award comes with a $1,000 prize, and the possibility of an additional $500 bonus that will be awarded to a Spectra Premium Best Overtaker Award Winner who utilized a Spectra Premium racing radiator during the race.

“Spectra Premium always seeks to encourage and reward great teamwork and performance,” said Collin Francis, global director – strategic marketing at Spectra Premium. “When a driver succeeds to overcome a difficult qualifying session with a great race, he can do so thanks to the hard work of all his crew in the paddocks and in the pits. We are convinced that this new Spectra Premium Best Overtaker Award will prove exciting to follow for teams and fans alike.”

At the end of the season, the $7,000 Spectra Premium Best Overtaker Award of the Year is given to the driver who compiled the most positions gained during the season. Only net positive gains are taken into consideration for the yearly award. In case of a tie, the driver with the highest number of driver points will win.

Alex Labbé, 2017 champion of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, and the Can-Am Ford Fusion Team No. 32 won the 2017 Spectra Premium Crew Consistency Award of the Year of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series.

Spectra Premium has been involved with NASCAR since 2016 as the partner of Jean-François Dumoulin and since 2017 as a high-performance racing radiators manufacturer.

May 20 will mark the first race of the 2018 NASCAR Pinty’s Series season at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and the Spectra Premium Best Overtaker Award also will find its first winner.
