NORTHEAST 2011 Hosting Array of Industry Meetings

A weeklong schedule of national automotive repair industry meetings will be held for the first time during the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ)’s 34th Annual NORTHEAST Automotive Services Show at the Meadowlands in Secaucus, N.J.

The week will kick off on Wednesday, March 16, with the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS)’s board meeting and awards luncheon, to be held at the Crowne Plaza Meadowlands.

Thursday, March 17, brings the Collision Industry Conference (CIC)’s quarterly meeting and reception to the Crowne Plaza leading up to the SCRS Annual Meeting and Board Elections on Friday morning.

The East Coast Resolution Forum & Leadership Conference kicks off later that day at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, while the Assured Performance Network will host a member shop meeting later in the afternoon. The NORTHEAST 2011 trade show opens at 5 p.m. Friday night and runs through Sunday afternoon, March 20.

“We are very excited and thrilled that industry leaders from around the country are coming to our NORTHEAST show and holding their meetings,” said AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell. “Having the show at the Meadowlands has increased our exposure and influence locally and nationally and I think this is a reflection of that.”

That influence has also been apparent with exhibitors, as the show is already 30 percent ahead of booth sales from the previous year.

“The response from our exhibitors has been extremely encouraging,” McDowell adds. “Our industry is looking to recover from a very difficult few years. So far, all signs from the show are very, very positive. We’re hoping NORTHEAST 2011 educates and inspires our industry to move forward and succeed this year and beyond.”
