NYSACTA to Hold Lobby Day in April

The New York State Auto Collision Technicians Association (NYSACTA) will have its annual Lobby Day on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Lobby Day entails body shop owners and managers from all over the state meeting in Albany to deliver information to Assembly members and Senators. The day often includes meetings with representatives from the New York State Insurance Department and the New York State Attorney General’s office.

Last year, more than 200 shops owners, managers and technicians met with more than 100 members of the New York State Legislature and their staff during the day to express concerns of unfair claims practices.

NYSACTA has made a number of attempts over the years to move the New York State Insurance Department to take action against insurers who participate in unfair claims practices has put pressure on lawmakers to create legislation intended to protect consumers from unfair insurance tactics.

For more information, call NYSACTA Executive Director Ed Kizenberger at (631) 941-9647.
