OEConnection Named One of Ohio’s Best Employers

Northeast Ohio company is four-time winner of statewide competition.

OEConnection LLC, an online parts and service exchange for the automotive industry, has been named one of the 2010 “Best Employers in Ohio” for the fourth year since the program launched in 2006. Sponsored by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Ohio State Council and administrated by an independent research company, Best Companies Group, the Best Employers in Ohio awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor top places of employment in Ohio.

OEConnection, with nearly 200 employees, was selected as one of the best Ohio employers in the small/medium-size category of companies. In addition to this award, OEConnection has also been named to the NorthCoast 99 for six consecutive years.  NorthCoast 99 recognizes great workplaces for top talent in Northeast Ohio.

Benefits and perks such as flexible work hours, four weeks of paid time off per year, a company-wide profit sharing program, an on-site fitness center and cafeteria, tuition reimbursement up to $10,000 annually and a free BlackBerry for every associate all help define OEConnection as a great place to work.

“Receiving this recognition and earning a place among Ohio’s top companies is particularly rewarding because our employees played a large part in the evaluation process,” said OEConnection President & CEO Charles Rotuno. “OEConnection associates are our most valued asset and have helped us become one of the fastest growing companies in our region since our formation in late 2000. We recognize that creating an environment where employees feel valued, motivated and happy is vital to our success.”

Open to all public and private organizations based in Ohio, the Best Employers award attracted nominations from across the state. Companies completed a two-part process that consisted of a submission form of workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics (worth 35 percent of the total evaluation), and an online survey distributed to every Ohio-based associate (worth 65 percent of the total evaluation).  The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings within each category.

The complete list and rankings of Ohio’s Best Employers – along with descriptions of each company’s benefits and workplace practices – will be unveiled in a special publication produced by Journal Publications Inc. in May.

OEConnection serves over 15,000 auto and truck dealerships, collision repair shops, fleets, tire distributors and manufacturers. OEConnection products are used over 5 million times each month to buy, sell and manage original equipment parts, facilitating an estimated $12 billion in annual replacement parts trade. The company is headquartered in the greater Cleveland area.
