A meeting tailored to collision repairers who want to take back control of their businesses has been set for Sept. 20 at the Holiday Inn in Fort Washington, Pa.
Items for discussion include PartsTrader, compensation, steering, the national lawsuit spearheaded by attorney John Eaves Jr. and based on enforcing the Consent Decree, and the Louisiana Attorney General’s recent action against State Farm for unfair and fraudulent business practices.
Organizer Ron Perretta, owner of Professionals Auto Body, desired to reach out to his fellow repairers to see if they were experiencing the same frustration as other shops that were concerned their independence and profitability was being take away from them.
“At this first meeting, we will look at tactics being used to separate us all and thereby eliminate our common voice,” says Perretta. “It doesn’t make any difference if you have disagreements with the shop down the street. Even though we’re competitors, we’re still on the same side of the fence, and our combined force can make a difference.”
The meeting time has not been officially determined yet, although the goal is to hold it mid-morning.
