PPG’s MVP Business Solutions group will host a conference for North American collision center owners and managers Sept. 19-21 at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
Under the banner theme of "Visionary Leadership: A Call to Action," the three-day conference will offer numerous seminars and peer group discussions centering on how attendees can enhance their leadership skills and play a creative, visionary role in fostering a high-performance collision repair culture, PPG says.
Highlighting the conference will be the keynote addresses of Scott Klososky, internationally renowned thought leader and technology visionary, and Richard Flint, one of America’s top personal development speakers and coaches.
The Disney Institute will kick off the program with an early bird seminar examining proven Disney practices for optimizing creativity and improving business results through effective internal structures.
"Our keynote speakers will address critical issues that impact the collision center’s ability to operate as a cohesive unit and to perform at its full potential," said Jim Berkey, director, PPG Business Solutions. "It’s all part of the overall conference objective to provide owners and managers the knowledge, tools and best practices that support a ‘continuous improvement’ approach to doing business."
Klososky specializes in helping leaders see the world in new ways. He brings with him the imagination of a futurist along with practical "in the trenches" experience. His address will focus on how forward-thinking and technology can help business leaders grab their unfair share of customers. He will also explain his "High Beam Leadership" approach and its application to better predict and prepare for industry changes that are coming.
Flint has been successfully mentoring and helping professional organizations, businesses and individuals for more than 30 years. His presentation, "Recharging the Human Spirit," will discuss how the transitional economy has affected the motivation of a company’s leadership and employees, in turn weakening productivity. Flint will provide the tools that can recharge motivation, rebuild morale and re-energize a company and its employees to perform at their highest levels.
Klososky and Flint will also lead break-out seminars "White Collar Lean" and "Becoming a Creator of Business," respectively designed to aid in boosting productivity and generating new business.
Recognizing that the competitive nature of the collision center marketplace has undergone a fundamental shift, Norm Angrove, senior manager, PPG Value Added Programs, will present a seminar on marketing in the 21st century.
"In light of the intensified competition in our industry, our customers need to take advantage of the new marketing opportunities available to them today," says Angrove. "Technology and online opportunities have made an obvious difference, but there’s much more to address to help our customers accelerate their success."
In addition, experts David Knapp and Mike Gunnells will provide an introduction to continuous improvement methodologies, proven successful at the OEM level. A Disney Institute representative will explain why a down economy is a great time to outpace your competition, and a panel of industry experts will offer insight into the future of the collision center business.
Attendance at the conference is open to owners and managers of collision centers using PPG Refinish products. The conference is one component of an all-inclusive range of MVP value-added elements for PPG customers.
