PPG OMNI Brand Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Introduced in 1995, the OMNI system was quickly recognized in the industry as a reliable resource for value-minded collision centers.

omni-logoPPG Automotive Refinish has announced it is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the introduction of its OMNI refinish system.

Introduced in 1995, the OMNI system was quickly recognized in the industry as a reliable resource for value-minded collision centers. At that time, the OMNI brand offered a range of economical refinish products that repair shops could use to deliver high-quality results while enhancing cycle times and profitability. Two decades later, PPG states that the OMNI system is still consistently providing the performance that cost-conscious collision centers rely on for their repair and refinish operations.

Since its debut, the OMNI brand has expanded and improved significantly, according to PPG. The OMNI Plus lineup was launched in 2005 as an extension of the OMNI basecoat system and has grown to include high-strength toners, special effect pigments and diamond toners – all designed to elevate the color-matching accuracy, hiding power and performance of the entire OMNI line. In 2009, the OMNI LV compliant refinish system was added to address refinish requirements in regulated North American markets. Today, with its all-inclusive range of products from pretreatments to topcoats, the OMNI platform is capable of blending topcoat qualities with a wide choice of primers and clears to create a unique and efficient process.

“The PPG OMNI system has changed and improved considerably over the years,” said Jennifer Boros, PPG marketing director, collision segment. “In response to customers’ requests and as the result of our ongoing research and development, we’ve taken the steps to put the OMNI brand at the top of the value category. We take great pride in what the OMNI brand has become, and we’ll keep advancing it so it continues to be the smart choice for shops that want to produce quality finishes efficiently.”
