Larry Ziarko of Herb’s Auto in Mt. Clemens, Mich., a facility specializing in body repair, painting and classic car restorations, was named the winner of an Elektron MC30 Precision Plasma Cutter as part of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists’ (SCRS) raffle series at the SEMA Show.
This was Ziarko’s second year at the show, and he says he was looking both for inspiration and practical ideas for the shop.
"This is a fantastic show with lots of things to see, and winning this prize makes it even better," he said. "This cutting tool will be great for our shop. It’s a nice addition, and with the training Elektron provides, I expect we’ll be able to put it to extremely good use."
To become eligible for the drawing, visitors to the SCRS booth had to pick up a "report card" listing all RDE sponsors and their booth locations within the show. The participant then had to visit the exhibit space for PPG, BASF, 3M, LKQ and DuPont Performance Coatings, have a company representative stamp the card, and return the completed card to the SCRS booth for entry into the drawing.
Elektron, Inc. says it was happy to contribute to the success of the raffle, something it did for a second straight year.
"SCRS has done a great job over the years improving the collision industry through its programs and involvement," said Managing Director-Americas for Elektron, Inc., Tim Morgan. "We are honored to be able to support SCRS and their training initiatives at SEMA with this donation. Seeing the classrooms full of RDE attendees proves that SCRS is continuing to listen to the industry’s needs."
SCRS says it thanks Elektron, Inc., for its ongoing support and congratulates Larry Ziarko on his win.
"Being able to show our appreciation to the industry for their support of RDE through this raffle has helped make this show special for SCRS," said SCRS Executive Director Aaron Schulenburg. "This has been an unforgettable event that I’m sure will have a long lasting, positive impact on the collision repair professionals that attended. We expect next year’s SEMA Show will be even more compelling, and we look forward to it with great anticipation."
