Experience the Motor City’s Revival During NACE | CARS

From the return of Industry Week, to the Tigers’ home games, to the nightlife, there are a plethora of opportunities for entertainment and excitement in the Motor City while you're in town for NACE | CARS.

NACE_Cars-logoNACE | CARS is heading back to Detroit July 21-25, 2015. From the return of Industry Week, with many automotive events co-occurring in Detroit, to the Tigers’ home games, to the nightlife, there are a plethora of opportunities for entertainment and excitement in the Motor City while you’re in town for NACE | CARS.

The Wall Street Journal has taken notice of the Motor City as well, recently featuring an “Insider’s Guide to Detroit.” This guide – featuring advice on where to eat, sleep, shop and explore – discusses the imminent revival of the city, with its recent influx of creative young professionals and entrepreneurs. According to the article, businesses have leased some two million square feet of office space that had largely been abandoned, more than a dozen new restaurants have recently opened, and both designer John Varvatos and Whole Foods have brought upscale retail into this sprawling city of 700,000.

The Detroit restaurant and bar scene has been featured recently on television as well. The Esquire Network’s Best Bars in America featured Detroit in three episodes in its most recent season.

Detroit also has several new craft breweries, top-rated cuisine and world-renowned casinos. Many of these casinos and restaurants are within short proximity to the COBO Center, and may even be connected to your hotel. A few of these venues include Greektown Casino, Caesar’s Windsor, MotorCity Casino Hotel and MGM Grand Detroit.

There are a variety of family-friendly events occurring as well. At the same time as NACE | CARS and Industry Week, several auto-related activities will occur throughout the city. These include: The Red Bull Global Rallycross, with racing taking place at Belle Isle State Park (including a 70-foot jump); Concours d’Elegance of America, a car show featuring upscale, prestigious collector cars; Maker Faire, featuring inventions and DIY creations at The Henry Ford; and RM Auctions Vintage Motor Cars, an auction of historically significant autos. In addition to all of these auto events, the Detroit Tigers are home for the weekend.

With the wide variety of events and entertainment available in the Motor City, there won’t be a dull moment while you’re in town for NACE | CARS. From July 21st to the 25th, you’ll experience the revival of Detroit for yourself during NACE | CARS, the largest and longest-running event for automotive service and repair professionals.
