Roush Performance and Sherwin-Williams Unveil New Roush Stage 3 Premier Edition Mustang

Automotive performance and racing legend Jack Roush unveiled the 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 Premier Edition Mustang at the Sherwin-Williams Automotive booth at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas recently.

Automotive performance and racing legend Jack Roush unveiled the 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 Premier Edition Mustang at the Sherwin-Williams Automotive booth at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas recently.

Roush was joined by NASCAR Sprint Cup series and Roush Fenway Racing team driver David Ragan as together they uncovered the dazzling orange "Mat It Mango" 2012 Mustang, which also featured highlighted, painted graphics in its exclusive "Sin City Silver" and "Performance Pearl" colors.

A special feature of the 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 Premier Edition is the new color options package, allowing for personal customization of three different aesthetic elements of the car: 12 proprietary Sherwin-Williams Planet Color Custom Color choices for the base vehicle color, graphic colors and graphic accent colors. The result is an impressive palette of unique color combination possibilities, says Sherwin-Williams.

"The Premier Edition is all about power, performance and styling," said Roush, who pointed out that the unique Premier Edition paint colors complement the aggressive 540HP ROUSHcharged 5.0L engine and the race-inspired ROUSH suspension. "And, the ROUSH Performance tuned exhaust system lets your neighbors know that you’re driving some high-performance American muscle!"

The 2012 ROUSH Stage 3 Premier Edition color choices and names include:
• Black Diamond
• Performance Pearl
• Motor City Iron
• Sin City Silver
• Blue Bayou
• Jet Stream
• Gold Rush
• Liquid Copper
• Red Blooded American
• Mean Green
• Luminescent Lime
• Mat It Mango

"This is a show-quality, premier paint application process. All paint is hand-applied at our ROUSH Performance facilities in Livonia, Mich., along with technical support from the Sherwin-Williams team," said Roush. "It’s a tri-coat application that introduces subtle hues of reflective flaking into the paint so the colors really dance and bounce as the Premier Edition adjusts to the changing sunlight angles. It’s a very intense paint process, but we’ve got a winning formula to make these Mustangs look great!"

ROUSH Performance, Roush Fenway Racing, and Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes have a long history of collaboration and teamwork, according to Sherwin-Williams. Whether it’s working together on the NASCAR circuit through their strong sponsorship relationships or it’s in the shop working on paint and appearance opportunities, the two organizations work extremely well together.

Roush added, "The Sherwin-Williams paint quality is exceptional, and the teamwork to produce the ROUSH Premier Edition program has been very strong. It was a natural fit for our two companies to collaborate on a project like the ROUSH Premier Edition Mustang."
