RUPES announced that it has launched the newest generation of SKORPIO random orbital sander, the SKORPIO III, which is now stronger than ever and makes heavy-duty applications even easier.
SKORPIO III introduces many innovative solutions, including an all-new motor developed to provide the best power-to-weight ratio with reduced air consumption, as well as minimized tool noise and vibration levels. More efficient than before, this new motor design also reduces internal friction for a higher delivery of power to the working surface.
The optimized components and improved double-row bearings result in longer bearing life and greater motor stability.
Plus, a new ergonomic lever with rubber insert has been added for a better grip and more comfortable operation. It works as stable support for the operator’s hand, and improves the overall feel and design of the tool.
Paramount to the redesign is the fact that the machine is perfectly balanced, allowing sanding pads and discs to run as smoothly as possible. These improvements allow technicians to work effortlessly, for longer periods of time, while limiting the stress on their arms and joints.
SKORPIO III is compatible with virtually every portable or centralized extraction system, and can be used in conjunction with the RUPES Green Tech filter unit, hose assembly and interchangeable backing pad on self-generated, vacuum-configured units.
Users can also choose the backing pad diameter that best suits the application (125 or 150 mm) without changing the tool or its performance, and the SKORPIO III family of tools is available with three different orbit options:
- 3 mm orbit – The smallest available, designed for fine applications to deliver the highest possible quality of finish
- 6mm orbit – 20 percent more efficient than the traditional 5mm orbits, balanced between material removal and finish quality
- 9mm orbit – designed for rapid material removal applications, aggressive but lightweight
Whether working on paints, varnishes, composite materials, filler or plastics, SKORPIO III provides maximum performance and operator comfort on a wide range of surfaces thanks to its extremely versatile, easy-to-use and innovative design.
