The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will hold an open board meeting Tuesday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas. The meeting, preceding the Collision Industry Conference event starting at 1 p.m. the same day, will be held in the Rio Grand West room of the Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the River Walk.
The two hour meeting will include updates from SCRS staff and committees, outlining current and future work initiatives the association has undertaken on behalf of its membership.
The meeting will include a detailed presentation from the SCRS Education Committee, led by committee member Toby Chess, detailing critical information every repair facility should know about the new technologies found in squeeze type resistant spot welders (STRSW). The presentation will discuss the impact your welder will have on the type of work you can accept into your repair facility, the change in capabilities of the new equipment, and electrical and building updates that you may have to consider when looking at new equipment. Committee member and SCRS past chairman Gary Wano will provide an overview that illustrates the breakthrough benefits of new handheld 3-D digital automotive collision repair measuring devices and the tangible benefits this technology can bring to repair facility blueprinting processes.
In addition to SCRS committee reports, the society will welcome James Brown of the Houston Auto Body Association (HABA) to give a report on local activity, including recent efforts to address the proposed changes to the Consumer Bill of Rights with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI).
This meeting is open to any member of the industry who wishes to attend, and there is no registration fee.
