SEMA Show Prepares Exhibitors for Success

SEMA Show organizers are hosting the 10th annual SEMA Show Exhibitor Summit June 17-19 in Las Vegas to teach exhibitors how to get the most out of the show.

Recognizing that auto part manufacturers invest in, and rely heavily on, the SEMA Show for their marketing promotions, SEMA Show organizers are hosting the 10th annual SEMA Show Exhibitor Summit June 17-19 in Las Vegas. During the two-and-a-half-day training, exhibitors will learn how to get the most out of 2019 SEMA Show, which takes place Nov. 5-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

With sessions focused on best practices for building and marketing a booth, taking advantage of free value-added programs and exploring promotional opportunities, the Exhibitor Summit is geared toward new, first-time exhibitors and to new staff members from returning companies. While space is limited, participation is free to all exhibitors.

“Exhibitors will be able to learn from experts and network with other exhibitors,” said Tom Gattuso, vice president of events for SEMA. “Our hope is that exhibitors leave the summit with a solid plan that will help them get the greatest value from their investment.”

Similar to freshman orientations that many colleges offer to new students, there is no cost for exhibitors to register and meals and hotel accommodations are included. Exhibitors simply need to arrange for transportation to and from the event.

“As a longtime participant of SEMA, the Exhibitor Summit gave us an opportunity to rethink our booth strategy and how we are connecting with our customers and future partners,” said Brian Moyer, senior manager, marketing and sales, Steele Rubber Products. “With so much happening at SEMA, it can become a challenge to capture all that is in front or available to you. The Exhibitor Summit provided us with insightful information on daily activities and expectations, which enabled us to create a clear and concise strategy for our booth and team.”

Exhibitors can sign up for the SEMA Show Exhibitor Summit here.

Auto Care Association Applauds FTC, DOJ Comments on Right to Repair

The comments were in support of the renewal and expansion of exemptions facilitating consumers’ and businesses’ right to repair their own products.

The Auto Care Association is applauding recent comments the FTC and DOJ made supporting renewal and expansion of exemptions facilitating consumers’ and businesses’ right to repair their own products.

"Auto Care Association supports the Joint Comment of the DOJ and the FTC encouraging the Librarian of Congress to renew and expand repair-related exemptions that would promote competition in markets for replacement parts, repair and maintenance services, as well as facilitate competition in markets for repairable products," said Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association. "In particular, on behalf of the entire automotive aftermarket, Auto Care Association agrees with the DOJ and the FTC that the Class 7 exemption to allow vehicle owners and repair facilities greater access to vehicle diagnostic and telematics data for monitoring purposes is critically important to lower the cost of repairs, improve access to repair services, and minimize costly and inconvenient delays."
