Service King Acquires D&D Collision and Callaway’s Collision Specialists

Service King Collision Repair Centers – a Richardson, Texas-based operator of collision repair facilities in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex and Houston markets – has acquired D&D Collision and Callaway’s Collision Specialists, the leading collision repair service provider in Houston, Texas, with three large-scale, high-volume locations. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The addition of D&D and Callaway’s positions Service King as the largest collision repair provider in Houston with four centers throughout the market, extending Service King’s position as the largest independently owned and operated collision repair organization in the U.S. with 26 locations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex and Houston.

“The acquisition of the D&D and Callaway’s collision repair centers is the initial step toward meeting our goal of serving the entire Houston market," said Chris Abraham, Service King vice president, Houston market.

In addition to the acquisition, Service King is building two new locations slated for completion by the end of the year and plans more growth in 2010. The company anticipates adding more than 300 employees in the Houston market over the next three years.

The acquisition of D&D and Callaway’s by Service King is the largest expansion acquisition that has taken place within the collision repair industry in the past five years, the company says. The recently acquired locations include 80,000-square-foot D&D Spring, 80,000-square-foot D&D Kingwood, and 37,000-square-foot Callaway’s Humble.

“We are very excited about D&D and Callaway’s joining the Service King team,” said David Niccum, D&D/Callaway’s co-CEO. “We have strived for the past 22 years to create a high-performing business that delivers outstanding customer service, value and quality collision repairs on a consistent basis. Our success was driven by our unrelenting focus on complete satisfaction and respect from both our customers and the insurers.”

Symphony Advisors, LLC, acted as advisors to Service King throughout the acquisition process.

Service King Collision Repair Centers was founded 33 years ago by owner and CEO Eddie Lennox with one location in Dallas, Texas. Now, with 22 Dallas-Fort Worth locations and four Houston locations, Service King says it’s the largest employee-owned collision repair center in the United States.
