Sherwin-Williams Announces Training Schedule for Second Half of 2009

Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp (SWAFC) will offer more than 30 different educational courses in the second half of 2009 to provide business building and production excellence development for collision.

The courses will be offered through classroom, Web and hands-on instruction at various SWAFC training centers in 11 metropolitan areas across the United States and Canada. The courses cover topics including painter certification, AWX waterborne systems, color adjustment and blending, fleet refinishing, OEM certification training, accurate estimating and workshop efficiency.

According to Rod Habel, SWAFC Director of Training, many of the new classes directly relate to Sherwin-Williams’ philosophy of helping its customers through ‘lean thinking’ – introducing concepts that support sustainable practices – which in turn can increase productivity while minimizing or often eliminating waste. He noted that most class offerings combined both productivity and sustainable practices as important business procedures through enhanced workshop efficiency, improved production thru-put, estimating solutions for profit and even identifying key performance indicators.
