S/P2 Adds Ethics E-Learning Course to Automotive Training Packages for Businesses

The course addresses the everyday challenges of making ethical decisions in the workplace, in order to help change the way the automotive industry is perceived through education and training.

S/P2 announced the addition of “Ethics and YOU in the Automotive Industry” to S/P2 Collision and S/P2 Mechanical business subscribers across the country. The course addresses the everyday challenges of making ethical decisions in the workplace, in order to help change the way the automotive industry is perceived through education and training.

“Imagine a world in which the automotive industry was seen as a leader in business ethics. It can be done, but we have to overcome decades of questionable behaviors, but we’re trying to change that,” said S/P2 President, Kyle Holt. “At S/P2, we’re ready to tackle a tough subject with our Ethics course. If we all work together, we can change the way business is conducted, and that begins with education. We’re already educating students to ensure they are equipped to make better decisions when they enter the workplace, and now we’re taking it a step further by providing the same course for our business customers at no additional cost.”

The course includes topics such as:

  • Understanding the benefits of having an ethical Code of Conduct,
  • Recognizing how ethical decisions can impact the workplace,
  • Anticipating ethical situations common to the automotive industry, and
  • How to use exploratory questions to guide personal behavior.

“’Ethics and YOU’ doesn’t offer definitive answers to every dilemma. Some of the scenarios we address are very basic, while others are more complex. It provides a decision-making framework to shops in an effort to work together to improve the consumer perception of the automotive industry,” Holt continued. “Ethical shops have higher customer loyalty and retention. This course will help prepare employees and owners to make better choices, act appropriately and avoid problems.

“’Ethics and YOU in the Automotive Industry’ is included in S/P2 Collision and S/P2 Mechanical business courses and in the S/P2 Automotive School Bundle. S/P2 also provides ethics courses for other school programs, including cosmetology, construction and culinary.”
