S/P2 Adds Welding Safety Course to Online Training Curriculum

The course educates students and professionals on the potential safety and environmental hazards specific to the practice of welding.

S/P2 has released their latest online safety course: S/P2 Welding. The course educates students and professionals on the potential safety and environmental hazards specific to the practice of welding. The 22-module course addresses topics important to businesses and schools such as:

  • Hazard Communication and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Fumes and Welding Gases
  • Fire Prevention and Fire Safety
  • Ventilation
  • Cylinders
  • Stainless Steel and Aluminum

Career technical schools will also have access to “Land That Job: Interview Skills for Welding Students” and “Ethics and YOU in the Welding Industry” when they’re released. These additional courses prepare welders for the future, whether it’s finding a job or learning about the ethical issues that may present themselves as a professional welder before, during and after their education.

“Every year, over 150,000 individuals across the nation are using S/P2 courses for safety and pollution prevention training. Welding can be so dangerous if the welder is not following best practices,” said S/P2 President Kyle Holt. “This course will benefit welding businesses and programs, as well as the automotive and construction businesses and schools we already serve. Each module follows the proven S/P2 online safety course curriculum, which meets OSHA standards for industry-specific training of individuals at your business or school.”
