Sterling Autobody Offers Student Scholarship through Collision Repair Education Foundation

Contribution of $25,000 funds awards for collision students located in close proximity of MSO.

Through a $25,000 contribution to the Collision Repair Education Foundation, Sterling Auto Body Centers is offering an interactive student scholarship this spring for secondary and post-secondary collision students located in close proximity of the MSO.

In order to qualify for the awards, students must visit and meet with their local Sterling Auto Body Centers store manager and interview with him/her. From the list of candidates, eight collision students will be selected to receive a $2,500 scholarship to help with their education expenses.

Sterling Auto Body Centers also donated $5,000 to the Education Foundation’s Collision Repair Education Campaign, which funds general student scholarship and school grants, including the Ultimate Collision Education Makeover school grant.

Collision Repair Education Foundation Director of Grant Programs Melissa Marscin noted, “Sterling’s interactive scholarship is a new way of helping introduce collision students with potential future employers. Students will be able to participate in this unique opportunity to meet a local business while they are still attending school, which can potentially lead to a job opportunity after graduation. In addition, the monetary award Sterling is offering will help the selected students decrease their student loan debt after graduation. Sterling has been a longtime supporter of the Collision Repair Education Foundation and we thank them for their continued support of technical education.”

“With the serious shortage of quality technicians on the horizon, helping to fund the education of students interested in collision repair should be a priority of every major repairer in our industry today," said Mike Nuxoll, human resources vice president for Sterling. “We’re thankful for the work of the Foundation, and you can bet that we’ll look to have first shot at these students as they near graduation."
