A crack-up in the wee morning hours of April 27 on the Ohio Turnpike caused hundreds of boxes of cereal to crackle and crunch across the freeway. The copious amount of the breakfast staple shut down eastbound traffic for nearly three hours. Bulldozers were brought in to haul away the morning munchies.
According to state troopers, the driver of the tractor-trailer transporting the tasty, nutritional cargo may have dozed off before he hit a guardrail around 2 a.m., putting his rig on its side across both eastbound lanes. A tow truck then crashed into the semi. The semi driver was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The wrecker driver refused treatement for cuts and bruises.
No word on exactly what kind of cereal was spilled…but no doubt hungry drivers wished a milk truck had also been involved.
