The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) announced that the Texas Independent Automotive Association (TIAA) has become its newest affiliate member.
Headquartered in San Antonio, TIAA was created to serve the needs of its Texas-based membership, which consists of independent owners of automotive or collision repair facilities. United by a commitment to a code of ethics that promotes professional and quality service to consumers at a fair price, TIAA strives to maintain a personal touch in addressing the needs of the consumer looking for collision repair services.
“The defining characteristic of our association is our members’ true desire to help the automotive industry advance professionally in a manner that benefits their customer,” said TIAA Membership Director Hunter Hooge. “We try to take advantage of the fact that we’re a smaller association, which enables us to be extremely focused and effective in assisting our members and those whom they serve.”
Recently, the association has begun to ramp up its efforts on behalf of its collision repair members. To help them progress toward this goal, they looked to SCRS for input and information.
“I met SCRS Executive Director Aaron Schulenburg at the SEMA Show in 2011 and was able to talk to others, either SCRS members or those who held SCRS in high regard. It became evident rather quickly that they had a vast amount of knowledge at their disposal that could help TIAA grow its collision segment," said Hooge. "As an affiliate, we’ll be able to bring their national perspective and collective experiences to our members. The relationship will also open the doors for us to network with other leading industry associations. It’s really a perfect fit for us.”
Added Schulenburg, “I had the pleasure of speaking to this group while the industry met in San Antonio this past July and was impressed by their willingness to find beneficial solutions to the many pressing issues facing the collision industry today. The association is a wonderful advocate for the independent shop owner, and they do so with a distinguishing personal touch. As the leading national voice for the industry, SCRS is honored that they’re enlisting our assistance as part of their heightened focus on their collision repair segment. They’ll be a valued asset.”
