The Boyd Group Opens Two New Body Shops in North Carolina and Washington

New shops increase number of U.S. locations to 187.

The Boyd Group Inc. (the "Boyd Group") has announced the opening of two new Gerber Collision & Glass repair centers, one in Gastonia, N.C., and the other in Spokane, Wash. The Boyd Group now operates 187 locations in the U.S.

The new North Carolina-based repair center is located 20 miles west of Charlotte and in the second largest city in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The center is approximately 24,000 square feet and was previously operated as Sonny Hancock Collision Center. With this addition, the Boyd Group owns and operates 23 repair centers in North Carolina.

The new repair center in Washington, which previously operated as Swanson Auto Body, is approximately 15,000 square feet. The Spokane addition is Gerber’s first location in Eastern Washington, introducing the brand into a new market.

"The openings of these two new locations are further examples of our execution of our stated growth strategy, which is to achieve 6 to 10 percent growth in number of centers through single-location additions," said Tim O’Day, president and COO of the Boyd Group’s U.S. operations. "These new centers will allow us to introduce our brands into additional markets and better serve new customers and insurance partners. We continue to identify opportunities to expand our presence in similar attractive U.S. markets, and we will remain active in capitalizing on those opportunities."
